BLUE CHRISTMAS

Holidays suck for lots of reasons. For many of us, the holiday season brings up grief, pain, trauma, triggers, and disappointments. Whether it’s another year of no-contact with family, experiencing unmet expectations in life, wading through the ongoing onslaught of fascism and Christian Nationalism, or just general anxiety around consumerism and capitalism, holidays are complicated.

Join us for a Blue Christmas gathering as we feel whatever we’re feeling, and give space for our authentic and unfiltered emotions during this holiday season, and process our grief before a God who wants to hear what we ACTUALLY think and feel.

Date: Thursday December 19, 2024
Times:
5:30pm–6:30pm
Location:
Shadle Park Public Library (Event Room)

REBUILD

Once a quarter, we organize a free 4 week cohort for folks interested in processing, exploring, and rebuilding their practice of faith. Rebuild gathers virtually for weekly online discussion, helping us experience meaningful connection and community. Our goal is to journey towards unlearning oppressive and harmful frameworks of faith and spirituality, and learn how to rebuild an embodied practice of faith and spirituality that centers love and liberation.

Date: Next session starting in January 2025
Times: Thursday evenings, 6pm PST
Location: Zoom
Info: Open to anyone

MUTUAL AID (FOOD)

We are supporting Spokane Community Fridge to help provide food for our neighbors. We are currently taking food donations at all events and will help stock the community fridge.

NEEDS

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Faith is complicated, especially for those of us who grew up in or around the church. Many of us are in the process of learning and unlearning the faith/worldview we inherited or had access to over the years, and are struggling to make sense of our story and experiences.

Commoners is providing free 1v1 space for folks to explore their faith (or lack thereof), religious baggage, and/or spiritual experience, in a non-judgmental, fully affirming environment, alongside gentle, understanding, experienced spiritual coaches.
